FAQ: Lucky Ducks In A Row- Rubber Duckie Dice Set
For the most up-to-date information about the status of our project, check our project updates on Kickstarter!

What material are the dice made from?

These dice are made from clear resin- a liquid plastic that is cast in molds, inked, and then polished to a high shine. The yellow ducks inside are also made from resin!

Are they balanced?

Yes! These dice are as balanced as any other manufactured dice. The duck inclusion is made with the same resin as the rest of the die, so there is no impact on the fairness of the dice! We put together a video of 100 rolls to prove it- see here: https://youtu.be/IKfh80L59gg

What's up with the duck positioning? Why isn't it facing the highest number?

When I was hand-pouring these, it was much easier to insure that the duck faced the highest number- but that was me, alone in the studio, one pair of hands producing these guys way too slowly to meet the demand.

Unfortunately, due to the way these are manufactured, we cannot guarantee the duck positioning- it is random. We tried- the flaw rate was so high as to make the dice unproducable. You’ll see in our sample photos that the ducks face all different ways- it makes each set unique!

When is fulfillment scheduled?

The sticker tier and all digital items will be sent once the kickstarter ends- by the end of July.

Dice tiers will be fulfilled in December, pending any factory issues. I have budgeted an extra two months for shipping from the factory to me and then from me to you, so hopefully that estimate is accurate.

Why Ducks?

  1. I just think they’re neat

  2. They make people smile!

3.Because we’re a little bit quackers for these click quacks.

Will I get multiple rewards from stretch goals if I back for multiple sets?

Yes. For every set, you will get the applicable stretch goal reward- two bathtubs, two stickers etc for the two set tier. This includes the first-day duckie minion!

What is the cut-off for the first-day reward? Can I get the duckie miniature if I missed it?

The cut-off for the first-day reward was backer #1400. If your backer number is before that, you’re guaranteed to get the reward (if you pledged the $12+ tiers).

The reward was meant as a thank you for early supporters- the people who helped us fund in less than three hours, the people who spread the word far and wide and brought more ducks to our flock. I feel it would be unfair to them to allow the duckie minion miniatures to be sold as add ons. In addition, I will be hand-assembling each of these minions. To prevent delaying fulfillment for everyone, we need to keep the number manageable! I only have the two hands <3

As a compromise, I will do a timelapse video showing the assembly of the minions and show you how to make your own!

How is pledge management being handled post-funding? Will there be add-ons available?

We’ve gotten this question a few times, and I want to let you all know of a change from our original intent. Originally, when this was a smaller campaign, we were going to use the native Kickstarter surveys to handle all pledge management.

That was before you all super duper wonderfully over-funded us!

Now, we will be partnering with BackerKit to help manage pledges and allow post-campaign add-ons! Knowing when to ask for help is an important lesson to learn, and we’re excited to bring on a partner with enough experience to make your backer experience a smooth one.

Why is my first day duckie minion reward not showing up in the Backerkit?

The first day rewards will be sent to backers #1-1400 (one minion per dice set pledged or added on), but it will not show up in the Backerkit survey. Don’t worry- we still know who y’all are and will make sure it gets in your package <3

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
